Trees have been suggested as a potential source for leaf protein production. The Importance of leaf protein fractionation which results in chloroplastic and cytoplasmic fractions has been emphasized in poultry and human nutrition. On a study on certain tree leaves Mohan and Srivastava found that 34 to 44 per cent crude protein could be extracted from the leaves and the fibrous residue remaining after the protein extraction contained 4 to 6 per cent crude protein.- Leaf Protein Concentrates (LPC) from Some Water Weeds and their Lipid Contents
